San Rafael is a large city to the South of the City of Mendoza. There are currently over 170,000 residence living within the city. The airport of San Rafael is serviced by Aerolineas Argentinas, the national Argentinean airline. Direct flights are available from Buenos Aires, the capital. The largest airport in the region is Mendoza, which is serviced from Santiago de Chile as well as Buenos Aires. It is an international airport with customs and immigration clearance.
Gavilan is located on the northern board of the city in the Las Paredes district. With the property being on the city limit line, it guarantees there will be no construction obstructing the mountain view of the estate lots.

The Price and Legal Stuff:

Gavilan Wine Estates are less than $60,000 for a typical 5 acre (2 hectare) estate. Our smallest estate is offered under $50,000. We offer in-house financing on the estates with as little as $10,000 down and financed over 5 years.
Property transfers will be done through an Argentinean “Escribano”, which is a notary/attorney who is licensed to handle real estate transfers. Legal property rights are very much like in Europe and North America. Transfers are recorded to a property recorders office and are government guaranteed. The transfer cost for the estates is $2000, all other costs are covered by Gavilan Estates. The buyer has the choice of selecting the ‘escribano’. We gladly give a list of available ‘escribanos’ in San Rafael. Escribano Bressan is the best known foreign investor ‘escribano’ for his excellent English skills. The ‘escribano’ can also setup an Argentine Corporation for those that want to stay anonymous with their investment.

At this time we offer these properties simple for a ‘reservation’. No transfer will take place before October/November of 2009. Each reservation guarantees the sales price for the estate selected at the time of reservation. It is accompanied by a $1000-deposit, which is fully refundable if we will not close by November 2009. Deposits are handled through our US headquarter and are held in trust in the US.
