Beautifully situated on a peaceful country road in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this vineyard and winery is less than an hour’s drive fromWashington DC, the nearest of all the wineries in the Virginia countryside. The Winery at La Grange was founded in 2006 on a 20 acre historic property and consists of a meticulously restored circa 1790 brick Federal manor house, a newly constructed 8,000 square foot winery production building, a rental house circa 1900, a barn and several out buildings. The tasting room and a gift shop are in the main house and a delightful boxwood covered walkway leads to the barrel room, ideal for any number of events, from weddings to corporate retreats. Six and one half acres are planted to vineyard, including a 4.5 acre cabernet sauvignon vineyard and a 2 acre petit manseng vineyard. The Winery produces 7,000 cases of wine annually (with the capacity to produce 10,000), many of them gold and silver medal winners.
