Located just 4km from the township of Taradale is this delightful property with 19 hectares (47 acres) planted in vines and the balance of approximately 15.6 hectares where vines have been removed and the growing structures are in place.
Plantings include 8.8ha Pinot Gris, 4.6ha Chardonnay, 3.3ha Sauvignon Blanc, 1.13ha Viognier, 1.1ha Merlot, 0.06ha Syrah and 0.05ha Malbec.
All the production plantings have dripper irrigation installed which is take from a 250mm bore and there are three further 150mm bores on the property available for the further development of the property. These bores were previously utilised with travelling irrigators.
The soils are predominantly the very free-draining Esk Sands.
For frost protection there are three strategically placed motorised, wind machines which are available for purchase with the extensive range of vineyard plant and machinery. Purchasing the plant and machinery would ensure that the vineyard was fully operational from day one.
Production forecasts for the current vintage are in excess of 127 tonnes.
The majority of the pruning has already been completed.
There are no current supply agreements in place.
Under the current Hastings District Council District Plan the property can be subdivided into three Certificates of Title.
On an adjoining property there is purpose built shedding for the vineyard which could be leased on a long term basis.
The vineyard is currently managed by the 2008 “Hawke’s Bay Young Viticulturalist of the Year” whom would be very interested in continuing his association with the property. |
